Recently, the University Guidance Counselor of YWIES Shanghai Lingang have released some good news! All 12 students of the first graduating class in our school have got university offers, and three of those students have won scholarships.

We are pleased and gratified with the students' achievements. Some students are still waiting for more college offers, and we will continue to share the good news with you as it comes in.

During the epidemic period, UGO counselors have been giving guidance to the students online, and have continued to do their work as usual. The counselors have methodically given the A2, AS and IG students corresponding guidance and help. For students of the graduating class, in addition to one-on-one online conversations, teachers have been continuously following up on their university admission status, helping students make suitable choices in the final stage, and assisting them in visa applications. AS students were given online workshops on topics related to university application, including: introduction to overseas universities, learning strategies and time management, and writing of application documents, and the counselors answered students' questions online. For IGCSE students, the counselors have also started to teach students to use the school UGO digital platform, so that the students could get familiar with the basic information of universities in various countries, as well as learn how to do research on choosing a school and a major. Teachers also use ClassDojo, an online communication platform, to talk to parents and answer their questions.

The first batch of graduates from YWIES Shanghai Lingang have all received offers by overseas universities.
100% of the graduates have been offered to be admitted to overseas universities, with a total of 52 university offers, of which 67% (35) are from the top 100 universities in the world.

Offers from Famous Art Schools
Two students received offers with scholarships from American art schools, including the famous School of Art Institute Chicago, Pratt Institute, California Institute of the Arts, School of Visual Arts (SVA), California College of the Arts, and Savannah College of Art and Design. Two colleges are ranked in the top 10 of all art institutes in the world, and all five are in the top 36.

Distribution of Countries Where Offers Are from
Among all the university offers we received from overseas universities, 63% are from the UK, that is 33 offers; 25% are from the United States, that is 13 offers; 12% are from Australia and Ireland, that is six offers.

Three Students Won Scholarships
To our delight, three students won university scholarships. They are Billy Bao, Vivian Guan and Lynn Song.

Billy Bao
Billy Bao was awarded a ￡5,000 annual scholarship from the University of Glasgow.

Vivian Guan
Vivian Guan was awarded a $6,000 / year scholarship from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Lynn Song
Lynn Song won a $23,000 / year scholarship from Otis College of Art and Design，a $13,000 / year scholarship from California College of the Arts and a $10,000 / year scholarship from Ringling College of Art and Design.

Conclusion:
We are happy for our students, and we also hope that all students will continue to work hard in the final stage of their Yew Wah career. The UGO counselors will continue to support students until they finally enter their desired university.
