    • On 18 March 2021 we celebrated the opening of the Annual Visual Arts Exhibition of YWIES Shanghai Lingang. The exhibition, which is currently on display in the school lobby and on the 2nd floor, commemorates students from Grade 1 to A Level, both in artistic achievement and personal journey. Upon entering the reception area, visitors are confronted with a visual feast, which includes works in painting, ceramics, tie-dye, digital illustrations, drawings, mixed-media pieces, 3D printed modules, cyanotypes, and photography.

We celebrate the art teachers who have worked passionately alongside the students, guiding them to achieve to the best of their ability.

They are Mrs Bekkie Wasserman, Ms Agnes Zhang, Ms Kimberley McFarlane, Ms Sarah Zhang, Mr Gabe Ostley, Mr Johan Wasserman and Ms Yillia Zhang. The students have also learned from ceramic artist Mr Xia Shaohua as well as Artist-in-Residence Ms Elizabeth Briel from Yew Chung Education Foundation.

Seeing the students work alongside each other, from Grade 1 to A Level, we appreciate the growth in skill and conceptual development that the art students embark on during their journey at school.

Yew Wah adheres to the school motto of "Align with Culture and Arts" to provide comprehensive and balanced education for every child. Art is the key to the progress of human history and the foundation of Yew Wah's educational philosophy and goals.

Our visual arts curriculum focuses on cultivating and developing students' curiosity and imagination, which is evident at the exhibition. These unique values contribute to students' personal growth and the culture of China and the world.

We wish to welcome all parents and visitors to come and view the exhibition from 18 March until 7 April 2021.
