On the 19th and 20th of October, 2023, the vibrant campus of YCIS Chongqing transformed into a hub of intellectual exchange, collaboration, and innovation as it played host to the prestigious YCYW Western Co-Principals' Forum. Coordinated by YCYW educational director Damien Hehir, the event was a stunning demonstration of YCYW's commitment to fostering a learning community model, where knowledge is constructed collaboratively, creatively, and critically.

Amongst the topics of focus were – child protection, leadership behaviors, recruitment, and how to use assessment data effectively. The forum was not just a meeting; it was an opportunity for networking, problem-solving, and sharing good practices from each of our schools. It brought together some of the best minds in education, creating a space where ideas could be exchanged freely, solutions could be found collectively, and success stories could be shared proudly.

Throughout the two-day event, the participants engaged in thoughtful discussions, interactive sessions, and collaborative activities that reflected the essence of the learning community model. They worked together to construct knowledge, challenged each other to think creatively, and encouraged one another to critique constructively. The result was a rich tapestry of insights, strategies, and innovations that will undoubtedly enrich our educational practices and ultimately benefit our students.

We look forward to hosting more such events in the future, continuing to learn, grow, and excel together.
