The IGCSE exam is the first and most important exam in high school, and it often brings considerable pressure. However, the daily learning at Yew Wah did not make me feel such great stress. With the support of the school and teachers, I was able to balance studying with relaxing my body and mind.
For example, in Biology, the subject requires a large number of specialised terms and knowledge points, which demands a substantial language foundation. My Biology teacher used various integrated learning methods to help us memorise and consolidate the knowledge. With her help, the difficult parts of the subject became much easier to handle. Before the exam, my Biology teacher patiently guided and encouraged me multiple times, greatly relieving my anxiety and enabling me to achieve good results.
I believe the most important thing in learning is to enjoy the process and not put too much pressure on yourself. Attend every class and complete every assignment. In your spare time, do things you enjoy, such as engaging in sports. This way, you can maintain a better state of mind and face every challenge more calmly.

The hard work during the exam preparation period helped me develop time management and self-regulation skills, as well as cultivate perseverance. At Yew Wah, besides growing in character, I also met friends who share the same goals, and my family has always been supportive behind the scenes. Learning to be grateful is also one of the important gains.
University study in the future will be a brand-new experience—the first time truly stepping out of my comfort zone, with new challenges in my social life, learning, and living. I am grateful to YWIES Lingang for providing a variety of activities and platforms for me to develop myself. While it has been intense, I am full of confidence. I hope that in my spare time, besides studying, I can do things I enjoy, such as traveling, photography, music, and visiting art exhibitions.
Gathering Strength for a New Start and Embarking on a New Journey
In the June 2025 CAIE examination session, students from YWIES Lingang delivered outstanding results amid intensifying global competition: from over half of A2 Level students achieving A*-A grades, to an AS Level multi-subject high-score rate exceeding 80%, and solid performance at the foundational IGCSE stage. The three academic stages complement each other progressively, reflecting the school’s distinctive teaching strengths in science, languages, and business, as well as demonstrating the improvement of students’ comprehensive abilities under the philosophy of “whole-person education.” The large number of high-scoring students and breakthroughs in subject full-score rates are the joint achievements of the school’s excellent faculty, scientific teaching system, and students’ relentless efforts.
Heads of Secondary Mr Benny Zhou and Ms Emily Colebourne stated "We are incredibly proud of our students' attainment and the professionalism our teachers have provided them. Through rigourous monitoring systems, all students are supported through personalised goals to help them achieve their dream universities".
These excellent results not only affirm YWIES Lingang’s past teaching achievements but also point the way for the school’s future development. Moving forward, the school will continue to leverage its strengths in subject teaching, optimise the curriculum system and teaching methods, and provide learning support that better meets international higher education requirements. At the same time, it will continue to build diverse activity platforms to help students enhance their academic abilities while cultivating interests and shaping well-rounded personalities. We look forward to A2 graduates quickly adapting to university life and exploring new possibilities, and to AS and IGCSE students following the example of their senior peers to achieve even greater success, fulfilling both their academic and life aspirations.
