In September, the campus welcomed new faces. The Student Orientation Day was lively and bustling, with laughter filling every corner. New students quickly familiarized themselves with the environment and made friends under the warm guidance of senior students, embarking on their dream-chasing journey at Yew Wah. The CCA Fair, showcasing extracurricular activities, brought the campus energy to a peak. The dazzling array of club projects left students spoilt for choice, eager to sign up for their favorite clubs and find new outlets for their interests.
October saw the school celebrating the meaningful “Yew Chung and Yew Wah Founders’ Day.” On this day, teachers and students reviewed the glorious history of Yew Chung and Yew Wah, commemorated the outstanding contributions of the founders, and inherited profound educational cultural heritage. The subsequent Lingang Sports Day further ignited enthusiasm. On the field, athletes challenged themselves with determination, embodying the spirit of unity and progress through sweat. Cheers echoed continuously, showcasing the vibrant vitality of Yew Wah students.
November immersed the campus in a festive atmosphere. The Yew Chung and Yew Wah Lingang Winter Carnival resembled a fairy-tale kingdom, with colorful decorations, fun game booths, and warm Christmas elements that allowed students to enjoy the winter’s joy. Meanwhile, the Houses Music Competition showcased students’ musical talents through beautiful singing and superb instrumental performances. The notes floated through the air above campus, adding warmth and brilliance to the cold days.
December’s A Level Information Session opened doors to academic advancement. Professional teachers explained in detail the curriculum system, its advantages, and future pathways for further study—helping students plan their academic routes with clarity and lay a solid foundation for future success. This month fostered reflection and exploration; students’ thirst for knowledge grew stronger, and their goals became clearer.
January was filled with a strong atmosphere of cultural exchange. The CFVE Automotive Student CCA Group visited the Volkswagen final assembly workshop, experiencing firsthand the charm of automobile manufacturing and technological innovation—broadening their professional horizons. The visit from Thai student delegates infused the campus with international cultural exchange. Through various activities, students from both sides deepened their understanding and respect for different cultures while forging strong friendships. Additionally, the inaugural “Poetry Charm” Poetry Competition for Lower Secondary students and “Traditional Costume Freedom Day” allowed students to inherit Chinese traditional culture while showcasing their individuality. The YWIES Lingang Musician of the Year Competition also took place with fierce competition, where young musicians displayed their talents through moving melodies—delivering an auditory feast.
In February, the IGCSE Information Session was held as scheduled. The school provided comprehensive explanations about the curriculum features, teaching methods, and assessment approaches—helping families understand this international education system and supporting academic planning. During the session, students asked questions enthusiastically, demonstrating anticipation for their upcoming IGCSE studies and thorough preparation for future challenges.
March saw the campus become a hub of art and academics. YWIES Lingang students shone brightly at the Yew Chung Yew Wah Hope Seed Music Concert—conveying love and hope through beautiful music. The school-wide art exhibition showcased exquisite artworks reflecting students’ rich imagination and artistic talents. Yew Chung Yew Wah’s Career Development Day focused on educational transformations driven by artificial intelligence, bringing cutting-edge ideas and teaching methods that inspired innovative thinking. The Spring University Fair provided early exposure to university admissions and programs. During the cross-country race, students challenged their physical limits with perseverance. Additionally, Lingang’s first Neurodiversity Week increased awareness of individual differences, fostering an inclusive and harmonious campus environment.
April featured a series of student leadership workshops guided by professional mentors. Through various training sessions and practical activities, students enhanced their leadership, teamwork, and communication skills—laying a solid foundation for future leaders. At the “Houses Soccer Game,” house teams demonstrated teamwork and sportsmanship on the field. During Book Week, a rich literary atmosphere pervaded campus; activities like reading sharing sessions and book drifting allowed students to immerse themselves in knowledge and develop good reading habits.
In May, the education lecture series focused on artificial intelligence applications in learning—prompting deep reflection on future educational models. The open days at Lingang Primary and Lower Secondary Schools attracted many parents and students eager to explore school resources and achievements. Student council environmental projects actively promoted eco-awareness through concrete actions—contributing to sustainability efforts. The Lingang Coffee Festival Charity Sale warmed hearts: students raised funds to spread love and help those in need.
June was a month of harvest and growth. The Lingang Career Day and Job Shadow Program enabled students to experience real work environments firsthand. The school also organized multiple parent forums and workshops—creating platforms for dialogue on education strategies that support student development. Middle school PBL (Project-Based Learning) week encouraged students to apply knowledge through practical projects—enhancing problem-solving skills and creativity.
The Primary School Promotion Ceremony celebrated children’s achievements as they transitioned into new stages of learning; the Class of 2025 Graduation Ceremony was a heartfelt farewell as graduates dressed in academic gowns bid adieu to high school life amid teachers’ blessings. The “Reinventing Myself” Student Leadership Retreat further cultivated leadership potential among students. The 2025 Lingang Performing Arts Festival showcased students’ artistic talents on stage—marking a splendid conclusion to this year’s arts activities.
In July, the second Lingang Science Festival opened grandly. Students explored scientific mysteries through experiments, exhibitions, and lectures—fostering their passion for science. At the Secondary Student Creative Drama Show, students wrote, directed, and performed original plays—using creativity to showcase youthful spirit and leaving a vivid mark on campus life.
YWIES Lingang understands that learning extends beyond the classroom. Throughout this year, diverse off-campus study tours were organized to enrich student experiences:
IGCSE Year 1 students traveled to Dunhuang, feeling the weight of history amidst vast deserts.
Grade 6 visited Shanghai Astronomy Museum for interdisciplinary exploration of cosmic mysteries.
Senior middle school students participated in an art exchange at the Italy Pavilion in Shanghai Expo Park.
Grade 6 also visited the Expo Museum for math project-based learning integrating real-world applications.
Grade 6 and Grade 8 students joined study tours in Somerset, UK—experiencing foreign cultures firsthand.
Grade 7’s Qilu study tour and Grade 8’s Huangshan trip allowed appreciation of natural scenery alongside historical learning.
Students also actively engaged in volunteer work: middle schoolers volunteered at Shanghai Children’s Hospital; psychological volunteers participated in exchanges at Nanhui Mental Health Centre—experiencing responsibility through service.
The story of YWIES Lingang’s 2024–2025 school year has concluded; however, students’ journeys of growth continue. May they carry forward what they have learned this year—braving waves with courage—and create even more brilliance in the future!
